What is Sei-Ki ?
Seiki international gathering
7th edition

AN OPENING LETTER BY KEITH STEWART

Organizer of the 1st Seiki Gathering, Aberdeen, Scotland, 2013

It is now nearly seven years since Kishi Sensei passed away.
Sandra, who is organizing the next Sei Ki International gathering in Portugal this November 2019,
has asked me to say a few words as to how the International gathering started.

In 2013 a group of Sei Ki practitioners met in Aberdeen Scotland to come together and remember Kishi.
To practice together, to share our development in friendship and to stay in resonance with each other.
A nominal fee of £80.00 ( 90 Euros ) for the weekend was charged to cover expenses,
and if any moneys was left over, it would be sent to Felix Bindernagel ( who was the facilitator ) for the New
Dawn charity.
Which Kishi set up, to help the orphaned children after the Tsunami in Japan in 2011.

Although it was a sad time, with Kishi no longer with us, it was also uplifting to be in contact with old friends
and long time Sei Ki people.
Some of the people shared stories and anecdotes about Kishi, about his way, and how lucky we were to
have encountered such free movement!

Myself, Felix, Frans, Vidan & Mark, shared our development on the workshop, and Thierry made a cup of
Tea for Kishi, and all the participants.
At the end of the gathering everyone was smiling, we had come together without Egos, without anyone
pretending to be better that anyone else.
Just open hearts following our way, our original movement!

After the gathering in the Dojo, Vidan suggested that we try to meet every year to continue sharing our
development.
We all agreed that this was a good idea, and that we should try to make it as inexpensive as possible for the
people to attend.
Frans volunteered to host the next gathering in Gent 2014, which Kyoko attended, and so it continues
today .
To share our development, to communicate beyond form, in simplicity and respect for each other!

I look forward to meeting my old Sei Ki friends, and making some new ones in November.

Purpose

The purpose of a Seiki gathering

Sharing

One of the differences between a workshop and these gatherings is
that there is no teacher, but several people coming together to share

their personal vision and experience.

This is a joint exploration of the many aspects of Seiki practice.

Kyoko Kishi Sensei will share her unique transmission.

Seiki is not a matter of technique. It is more a practical philosophy, a perspective on life, an approach that tends to expand and deepen consciousness at all levels of life: body, mind, feelings, spirit.

Practice

The programme is centred on Seiki demonstrations, followed

by individual or group practice.

Other arts related to Ki culture, including Gyoki—the very essence of
Seiki—, and chanting  Kotodama and Norito,

are part of the

experience.

To be continued

The 2019 Gathering will take place at the Monte Mariposa Cultural
Center, located in a beautiful valley near the village of Santa Catarina
Da Fonte Do Bispo, in the Algarve region of southern Portugal.

The setting is unspoilt countryside far from mass tourism, yet only 15
minutes from Rio Fermosa National Park, and 25 minutes drive from

Faro and Faro international airport.

A warm climate, splendid scenery and a wonderful sea coast,
with easy access to endless unspoilt beaches.
